
Florence C. Cripe, 92, Williamsport, IN, passed away Monday, Nov. 24 at St. Vincent Williamsport Hospital. She was born on Dec. 10, 1921 in Carbondale, IN to Cecil and Grace (Grames) Odle. On June 8, 1946, Florence married Herbert S. Cripe. He preceded her in death on June 26, 1984.
Also preceding her in death are sisters Marilyn Satterfield and Elaine Fry and her brother, Bill Odle.
Florence is survived by two sons, Dennis (Linda) and Doug (Carolyn) Cripe and four grandchildren: Brandon Cripe, Amy (Tom) Miller, Ryan (Erin) Cripe and Aaron (Lacy) Cripe. Also surviving are six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Florence graduated from Williamsport High School in 1940. She worked alongside her husband as co-editor and co-publisher of The Review Republican newspaper in Williamsport for 40 years.
Visitation is Monday, Dec. 1, from 1-2 p.m. at the Williamsport Christian Church with funeral services at 2 p.m. Burial service follows at Highland Cemetery in Williamsport.

So shocked when I opened the Lafayette paper this morning and learned of Florence passing away. Don’t think any of the neighbors knew. But then Florence would not want any fuss. I am sure she would choose to just pass quietly.
She was a wonderful person and Dennis’s video tribute is excellent. Sincere sympathy to all The Cripe family.
